They Went to Yale

This top institution has seen a few celebs pass through its gates.  We all know about Jodi Foster, but here are some you might not know about:

Jay Carney

President Obama’s Press Secretary is a graduate of the class of 1987.  Carney has seen it all.  He covered the collapse of the USSR for The Miami Herald, was onboard Air Force One when news of 9/11 was reported to President Bush, and set-up the Obama Between Two-Ferns interview with Zach Galafinakis.  He’s done his alma mater well.

Lupita Nyong’o

This Oscar Winning beauty graduated Yale with an MFA in 2012.  Known for her role as Patsy in 12 Years a Slave, Nyong’o is set to become one of Hollywood’s hottest stars and rumors have swirled that she is a contender for a role in the new Star Wars film.  Keep a look out for this one; she is going to be one of the greats.

Meryl Streep

Lupita might be climbing the ladder, but Streep is already at the top.  With 18 Academy Award nominations to her name.  Her latest win was for 2012’s The Iron Lady, a biopic of British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.   Streep does not stop and is scheduled to release three films in the next year alone.  Streep graduated from Yale in 1975.

Than Merrill

This former Bulldog is also a former NFL star.  Than Merrill left a career in football for Real Estate and became a staple on the reality TV-series, Flip This House.  Than Merrill now runs FortuneBuilders, a real estate education company, and CT Homes his own real estate firm located in San Diego.

Tom Wolfe

This white-suit wearing author has a doctorate from Yale’s American Studies program.  Wolfe is known for his novels and his non-ficiton work such as The Right Stuff, about astronaut training.  His recent novel Back to Blood, about Cuban immigrants in Miami was published in 2012.
